You might remember my sister, Katie, and her fiance, Aaron from their engagement shoot (like literally when they got engaged). I was about 6 months pregnant at the time, and I bundled myself up and hid in the trees in the snow to capture their special moment. It was so cool to be there. Katie mentioned during the shoot I’m about to share, that the last time I shot them I looked like a snowball in my white coat. Ha!

This time around was much different (partially because I could actually walk around!). We wandered all over Discovery Park so I could drown them in the amazing light. We played little games, laughed a lot, and trampled through some seriously high grass. It was like being on an adventure! I wish for them both that their wedding planning process, marriage, and family continue to be adventures (the good kind!). And that they keep laughing a lot and loving on each other. I’m so excited for their wedding next July! Without further ado, part one of their engagement session…(Oh, and their off the grid doing some camping and won’t be back to see this until tomorrow, so be sure to leave them lots of comment love!!)

When Molly contacted me to share her story and inquire about a session, I was thrilled! I’m a sucker for an adoption story, and this one had a special twist. Molly and Chris’ biological daughter, Mila, is two years old. Her adopted brother, Bennett (great name!), is also 2 years old! He is just one month younger than his sister. Twins! Bennett was picked up from China a few months ago, and seems to have settled nicely into his forever family. It’s always so much fun to spend time with adoptive families. And being about to be outside and enjoy this Seattle summer made it just that much better! Thanks Molly, Chris, Mila and Bennett for inviting me into your home! indoorsPIN

Oana - Little feet in a puddle make my heart melt. These are wonderful!
What a wonder it is to capture someone else’s family, but when that family has adopted another child and accepted it as one of their own is truly a great thing. I hope they love their images as much as I did viewing them 🙂 Great job!ReplyCancel

What a sweet dad, to book a Day in the Life shoot for his wife and daughter as a Mother’s Day gift! I was excited to finally meet this family in person, and when I did I immediately knew why Dad wanted to capture them. Beautiful girls inside and out! I had such a fun time spending the afternoon with them (and I’m glad Dad snuck in a few photos too!).  I have the best job ever. Have I mentioned that before?

I had such a good time with Tom and Christine at Luther Burbank Park for their session in honor of their 44th wedding anniversary! I couldn’t ask for more on my 44th anniversary than what they’ve got in each other and their family. Happy anniversary you two! Here are a few of my favorites!
