I’m sure you remember sweet little Theodore from his birth story. I was so excited to get to go back and see him again 9 days later for his newborn session. I’m always a sucker for some newborn snuggles, so it was a struggle to give him back after holding him for a few minutes. But when I did I had so much fun photographing him with his mommy and daddy. He fought sleep for a long time (I’m pretty sure he didn’t want to miss anything!) but I’m really happy with what we came up with. Congrats again to Trista and Tyler! And then there were three…

Let me first say that this mama, Trista, is a WARRIOR. After about 51 hours of labor, a precautionary move from home to hospital, and 4+ hours of pushing, she brought little Theo into the world. I was exhausted for her! And I never heard her complain. She just kept going, determined to bring her little one into the world on her own…although she wasn’t really on her own. Her husband, Tyler, is a champion too. His encouraging words and touches lasted through every last contraction and push. What a team! I was so honored to be there to document the moments leading up to Theo’s birth as well as his very first breaths. I’ll never forget the looks on Trista and Tyler’s faces when the midwife said it was time to push. Tears and excitement and relief all at once.  And when Tyler got to “catch” Theo as he arrived…amazing. Thank you so much for letting me witness this day. I can’t wait to see little Theo again for his newborn shoot!

You probably recognize this sweet family from Sara’s maternity shoot and Sam’s newborn session. I’m so happy that they opted for the Baby’s First Year package and I got to see them for Sam’s 6 month shoot (a little late :)) and I will get to see them again when he’s a year! It is so much fun to get to know a family and watch a baby change and grow through that first year. Especially this baby!! Sam is the happiest, most easy going, smiliest (is that a word?) kid you could ever hope to meet. So happy to share these images with you.

This sweet family welcomed me into their home in the morning. It was so much fun to be there when the kids woke up, through breakfast, and throughout the whole morning. From magic tricks to planting a pea plant, exploring the kids’ “fort” and painting fingernails, this family was full of a calm energy that was so much fun to be around. Thanks Jasons!

I am so thrilled and proud to share the story about Day in the Life shoots from Evening Magazine! Kim made me feel so at ease and everything went so much smoother than I expected.  I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of everyone out there. Thank you all so much!  If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the video. Below are some of the images taken during the filming.
