It has been far too long since I’ve had these sweet girls in front of my camera! Ayerlie and Emerson have grown up so much I can hardly stand it. And Karen is and always has been such a beautiful mama to them. Thanks for coming out to play! I loved spending time with you!!!

Let me just say, I’ve been dying to get my camera on this sweet family FOREVER. And I was so not disappointed. It’s hard to describe the feeling of being with them on a regular Saturday morning. There wasn’t much drama or wildness. Yes, there were silly moments, but even those held a sort of calm. And there’s an energy between them all. A slow buzz beneath the surface. This sensation of just being happy and excited about life and each other. And there was dancing. Oh, was there dancing! It was an honor to be invited in to document their family.

If you follow this blog at all, you know what a hard time I have narrowing down Day in the Life sessions to share with you. This one is no exception. I really want to tell the whole story, every detail. So to reduce from several hundred is really really hard. And in this case, I had the incredibly talented Rachel Cathleen Photography along for a mentorship. Which equals more magical moments captured. So that’s my long winded way of saying I’m sorry (but not sorry) for sharing so many!

Thank you Becky, Jim, Alice and Willa for being yourselves for us. We hope you love your images!

My business allows me to see inside the lives of families. To feel along with them the love and the silliness and sometimes the tears too. It’s pretty common that it’s the moms who have initiated, booked and organized the sessions. And all too often that dads shy away from the camera. I’m not really sure why.  But whether it’s a Day in the Life or a lifestyle mini session in a park, I won’t let the dads go unnoticed (even if they sorta want me to).

So today is Father’s Day. And I want to tip my proverbial hat to all of you amazing dads. I am honored to witness and capture your snuggles and stories read. Wrestling matches, tickle fights, and wiping messy faces. The owies kissed and quiet moments and you sometimes calming tears. All that loving that you do every day. Thank you.

Happy Father’s Day!

I can’t believe Theo is a year old already! I remember having lunch with his mama when she was newly pregnant. Time goes so so fast. This was one of my easiest 1 year old sessions ever…because this little man is just so freaking happy! The whole family was full of smiles and fun and I really enjoyed our shoot.

Erica, I’m so glad we’ve been able to reconnect since our move back to Portland and that our little guys are getting to know each other! Happy Birthday to Theo!

When I first got to the Gibson’s home, mama was a little worried about little man’s mood…but it didn’t take long at all before this family had, as we call it in my house, “the sillies”. It was all giggles and smiles and hugs and tickles and pillow fights and cars. Lots of cars. Hillary, Mark and Jackson, I hope you enjoy your photos like I enjoyed my time with you!
