Beautiful day. Beautiful girls. Beautiful friend. You’ve all seen Courtney before. Engagement, wedding, maternity and so on. I hope you continue to see her with her beautiful family on my blog for a long long time. Love you, girl!
You’ll recognize these sweet girls from their Day in the Life Session and their recent Mothering Mini Session. This time around, the session was a gift to their aunt (who happens to be their mom’s twin sister), so the focus was on their relationship with her…and a few with mama in there too. I always love photographing this family. There is so much joy and silliness and personality.
I was so excited when Angel and I managed to find a time that worked for a little family session. I met her a few years ago in one of my Moms with Cameras classes and she’s been an active member of our alumni group ever since. I felt like I’d known her daughter, Tesla, a long time before this shoot, but it was so much fun to connect all of the fun expressions I’d seen in Angel’s images with an actual person. What a doll! And Dad was super laid back and easy to photograph too. This was such a fun shoot. Thanks, sweet family!
“Sometimes when you pick up your child you can feel the map of your own bones beneath your hands, or smell the scent of your skin in the nape of his neck. This is the most extraordinary thing about motherhood – finding a piece of yourself separate and apart that all the same you could not live without.” – Jodi Picoult
I’ve just been loving these Mothering Mini Sessions! There’s nothing like the bond between a mama and her kiddo. Hillary and Theo were no exception. I loved spending a little time following them around the park. They clearly adore each other, and their calm connection was a pleasure to witness.
This was mostly a Mothering Mini Session, with just a little bit of Dad snuck in there. Emma has taken a couple of Moms with Cameras classes from me, so I’ve seen a lot of images of her girls over the last couple of years. But it was SO much fun to finally meet them in person (and Dad too!) This was one of the easiest sessions I’ve done in awhile. Everyone was happy and agreeable the entire time (with a 3.5 year old and a 6 month old, that’s pretty much a miracle!). And they basically posed themselves. I mean, come on you guys, how sweet are these four?! Emma, thanks for bringing your family to me! It was truly a pleasure. I’m happy to do it again any time!
